Hundreds of school children dressed in spots to raise cash for Children in Need today (November 18).
Thousands of pounds have been raised for the national cause in the Western Wards by children and school staff – and even Shrek!
The colourfully dressed pupils decorated the six-foot ogre in a spotty hat and earrings at Hook-with-Warsash School.
They raised about £450 with their spotty-themed dress up day and cake sale, while Sarisbury Infant school raised £376 with each child donating one pound to wear a colourful costume.
Some painted their faces bright yellow like the charity’s Pudsey bear.
And it was a spotty pyjama party at Sarisbury Junior School which raised more than £600 with their outfits and with the Year 6 pupils’ cake sale.
Sara Willoughby, deputy head teacher of Hook-with-Warsash, said: “We think it’s very important that the pupils in our school are aware of the children in this country and around the world who are far less fortunate than themselves.
“We’re very pleased that they really enjoy raising money for them through a fun process of dressing up and having fun.”
